Listening to the Forgotten Voices

Research suggests Americans living in distressed areas die five years sooner compared to those in prosperous areas, while mortality rates are 25 percent higher in distressed counties than prosperous ones.

Women's health is particularly poor in these areas, with women suffering from higher rates of obesity and diabetes. JIVINITI will listen deeply to the voice of these underserved women who have little to no voice in a system full of noise. We wish to discover and decode their deeply held beliefs, “life as they know and experience it” and their search for meaning. We will delve into concepts such as animal rights, environmental health, climate change, compassion vs carnism with them – to both explore and implore, without judgement. We hope to understand their process of behavioral change – and focus their attention on a whole food plant-based (WFPB) diet, which is proven to be the healthiest, most immune resilient and climate compassionate approach to nutrition.
